“Americans generally believe that their Thanksgiving is modeled on a 1621 harvest feast shared by the English colonists (Pilgrims) of Plymouth and the Wampanoag people..”
Hmmmm……we weren’t aware that French’s Green Bean casserole has been around for so many years!

I grew up eating that casserole! Thanks for the memory! 😀

We have it every year as a reminder to be thankful for what we have today. We were very poor children whose Grandmother made Green Bean Casserole every year for Thanksgiving.

I’ve never tasted that plate, I’m from Spain and have lived in the U.S in my early years but never heard about that plate. I do know the not so wonderful story of the colonist and Indians. Anyways, I like both. Matter of fact try to put in front of me something I won’t eat, I’m an eating machine, except for the vegetarian food. I just can´t. I can´t see a veggie hamburger, that should be a crime for humanity!
I do like cooking so this will be interesting to try and do it.

Then I have to make it a staple here in Spain not only at Thanksgiving but all year long. Might even get rich doing it, open a restaurant, be a billionaire and move to the Bahamas….no wonder I write fiction , I’m already day dreaming. But I can cook it for myself.
